Experienced professionals are very welcome. At the same time we know that what is most important is what we do in the future. When the founder's father was interviewing potential undergraduates to read Philosophy at Oxford University, he said that he was always looking for "that spark" - a hint that the person was capable of doing great things in the future. If you are motivated to do something special in the work environment, we want to hear from you.
Who is Global Image Lab looking for. We don't care if you are young/old/black/white/European/Arab/Asian/African/male/female/gay or straight. What we do care about is that everyone we hire should meet the basic standards we are looking for. This long list of attributes are common sense. Not all businesses are so demanding, but we find in the long run it pays to hire and keep the best. This is what we want:
- Hard working "get your hands dirty" attitude. The more senior you are the more you have to do, not less.
- Little hierarchy. It has to be clear whose in charge, but respect has to be earned, not acquired through position alone. Managers have to set an example
- Nice and friendly, with excellent interpersonal/listening skills. Good communication skills and a commitment to use them to keep internal and external audience informed.
- High ethical standards. Treating other people internally and externally fairly and with respect.
- Highly motivated/high internal energy level. Relish new challenges.
- Ambitious and competitive, while supporting success among your colleagues and team. If you can attract, welcome and accept people who are smarter than you, you will be successful here.
- Very high standards of professionalism with client focused customer service
- Good organizational and time management skills. Plans ahead well, uses the precious time we have to the best possible purposes.
- Action oriented, can do attitude.
- Market sense. Often we have to anticipate what clients want before they realize it themselves. How many of us realized we would appreciate word processing and the internet before they were invented, we want to make the company successful by adding value and giving clients exactly what they want.
- Profit oriented. We live in a globalized world and we welcome clients and staff from other countries. Our business exists to make money and give satisfying jobs to the people who join us and superb quality to our clients. Making above average profits is part of the process, and gives us the funds to invest and keep hiring.
- Innovative and creative with respect to system technology and processes we are dealing in artistic services and valuable artificacts, and we achieve this with excellent processes. New better faster cheaper ways of giving our clients exactly what they want will be being discovered all the time and our culture is open to that.
- Long term. We don't know what the future holds, but our decades of business experience tell us that it pays to think long term. Better to invest now making quality better
- Has a "who what when" attitude. intolerant of postponed decisions, or meetings without clear decisions
- Happy with taking responsibility. More likely to say, it’s my problem/fault and I'll fix it than looking to blame others.
- Naturally curious, happy that that there are new things to know and willing to learn
- Deeply knowledgeable about the area for which they are responsible.
Lastly, a key test of any employee is "could they spend a day with a key client, and at the end of it, the client has a more positive view of the company than at the start, due to the calibre of the person in question
